Social Responsibility

Duni's vision is to be the market leader in premium table top solutions for the food service industry. This means that manufacture of our products in-house and at the supplier’s must take place under good conditions, and that our business partners are satisfied with us as a company. Being accountable for how our operations affect people and the environment is also important if Duni is to realize this vision.

Duni's guidelines for social responsibility
Duni’s position on social and environmental issues is defined in the Corporate guidelines for social responsibility and the environment. A proactive involvement on social accountability and environmental issues contributes to the long-term, sustainable development of Duni operations. Corporate policy reflects our standpoint on these issues, and forms the platform on which decisions are taken that affect fundamental Duni values. These values have emerged through the course of Duni’s long history, and shape the Duni of today.

Duni guidelines for social responsibility apply to all employees and in all business areas. The guidelines must also comply with national laws and legislation. Local guidelines can exceed but never negate or undermine these overall guidelines. Social responsibility includes the Code of conduct for Duni and our suppliers, environmental issues, business ethics, crisis management and support for charitable purposes. Our policies are regularly reviewed to ensure the continuous development and improvement of our accountability in social, environmental and business matters.

The guidelines for social accountability are being continually developed and changed. In recent years, focus has been on the Environmental policy and the Code of conduct for our suppliers. We are continuing this work with the development of overall guidelines and systems for follow up of social responsibility. The Code of Conduct for Duni and our suppliers and the Environmental Policy are published on the external website and on the Corporate intranet.

The Duni board has decided that compliance with the Corporate guidelines for social responsibility are to be followed up through an annual audit and development program.  This will include monitoring Duni’s own operations and those of our external suppliers. In addition, an internal organization structure will be established for social responsibility.

The Duni board has also decided that the guidelines for management of fraudulent conduct, business transactions with close relatives, and the product policy will be updated and published in the first half of 2008.
