  • 1949
    Production of paper cups starts in Dalsland, Sweden.
     
  • 1953
    Production of white tissue napkins starts.
     
  • 1954
    Production of colored tissue napkins starts. 
     
  • 1956
    The premises in Halmstad open. The company called Åhlén & Åkerlund Förpacknings AB moved to Halmstad after a careful mapping of 42 cities' ability to welcome a new industry.
     
  • 1957
    The production of pleated paper cups moves from Dals Långed to Halmstad. This product was historically developed for sanitary reasons, to prevent spread of contagion. 
     
  • 1958
    The first wholly owned sales office outside Sweden is established in Hamburg, Germany.
      
  • 1962
    Bilå Cup AB is established to market the pleated paper cups and other paper cups.
      
  • 1963
    The first machine for paper plate production is bought. 100 persons are employed and the turnover is 9.7 MSEK.
         
  • 1965
    Introduction of Dunicel® material on the market.
      
  • 1966
    Plastic production begins in Halmstad. The first product was a cup that still today is a large Duni product. The production of injection-molded products, mostly cutlery, started the same year.
      
  • 1970
    Duni Bilå AB is formed as a result of a merger between the two Bonnier owned companies Duni Group, based in Dalsland and Bilå Group, based in Halmstad.
      
  • 1971
    An elegant plastic glass, marketed with a TV commercial in BBC, is launched.
     
  • 1972
    Production starts in Bramsche in the premises of a former textile factory. 
     
  • 1977
    Duni Bilå AB formed a part of stock listed Grafoprint AB.
    Duni starts operations in the U.S.
     
  • 1982
    Introduction of Dunilin® material on the market.
    The Swedish competitor JiHå Plast AB, producer of plastic cups, was acquired.
     
  • 1984
    Delsbo candle factory was acquired.
     
  • 1985
    Introduction of Dunisilk® material on the market.
     
  • 1989
    The Swedish-based media company Tidnings AB Marieberg buys 100% of the shares in Duni, and the share is delisted from the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
       
  • 1990
    Duni Bilå becomes Duni. Acquisition of Finess, Sweden’s second largest manufacturer of tissue-based napkins.
     
  • 1994
    Duni Group Head Office is moved from Halmstad to Stockholm.
     
  • 1996
    Artstyle® - an exclusive product line for specialty shops - is introduced on the market..
     
  • 1997
    Tidnings AB Marieberg sells 50 percent of their shares in Duni to EQT Scandinavia I.
     
  • 1998
    The hygiene operations, Finess Hygiene, and the packaging operations, Stenqvist, are sold. Havi, a Finnish candle manufacturer, is acquired
     
  • 1999
    De Ster, the world market leader in serving products and comfort items for airline passengers, is acquired
     
  • 2001
    EQT acquires remaining part of the shares and now owns 100% of Duni.
     
  • 2002
    Kisa tissue mill in Sweden is divested..
     
  • 2004
    Candle manufacturing units in Delsbo, Sweden and Riihimäki, Finland are divested.
    The tissue production in Skåpafors and Dals Långed, Sweden are concentrated in a subsidiary, Rexcell Tissue & Airlaid AB.
     
  • 2005
    The new headquarters in Malmö, Sweden opens up.
    Skåpafors converting unit is closed down.
    Halmstad production facility and office is closed down.
    Duni acquires shares in Bonne Route, the Dutch leading provider of inflight catering products.
    Duni signs agreement with SIF (Sweden's leading white collar union) on adoption of Code of Conduct.
     
  • 2006
    Duni is organized in three separate legal units, Europe, Americas and deSter.
    The business in North Americas is divested in September.
     
  • 2007
    The separation from deSter is finalized in March through the sale to Gate Gourmet.
    In November 2007 Duni was listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
      
  • 2008
    Duni in Germany celebrates 50 years.
    The first annual general meeting after the stock listing is held in Malmö.
